Babin elected to Board of Directors

The Louisiana District Attorneys Association has announced that District Attorney Ricky Babin has been elected as a member of their Board of Directors.

Babin is District Attorney in the Twenty-third Judicial District of Louisiana in Ascension, Assumption and St. James Parishes.

He will begin his term on August 15.

Joseph L. “Joe” Waitz Jr., District Attorney (32nd J.D., Houma) was elected President, John F. DeRosier, District Attorney (14th J.D., Lake Charles was elected First Vice President, and Barren C, Bill-master, Executive Assistant District Attorney (24th J.D., Gretna) will serve as Second Vice President.

The Louisiana District Attorneys Association is composed of District Attorneys, Assistant District Attorneys, and District Attorney Investigators in the State of Louisiana.

It provides training and legal services for prosecutors across the State.

The Association also develops and promotes legislation to strengthen the criminal justice system. Its members are available for testimony before legislative committees.
