Volunteer Ascension to host emergency?training course in parish

Today,  from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., at the Lamar-Dixon Expo Center, Volunteer Ascension, along with Ascension Parish Office of Homeland security and Emergency Preparedness and Volunteer Louisiana will provide Emergency Training to groups, individuals, businesses and industry leaders who are interested in serving as volunteers at the Ascension Parish Volunteer Reception Center at Lamar Dixon. 

In the event of a hurricane, or other emergency, the VRC will be opened “post emergency” and will serve as a clearing house for the many unaffiliated volunteers that come to Ascension Parish during emergencies. 

This is a free class that is open to the public, but you must sign up with Volunteer Ascension in order to attend.  Be a part of the Ascension Parish emergency response team!  Limited seating and lunch provided.  Call 225-644-7655 or email volas@eatel.net.
