Swamp Pop Festival comes to parish

The Swamp Pop Music Festival presented by Paragon Casino Resort will welcome over 6,000 visitors July 15 & 16 in the Lamar-Dixon Expo Center’s Trademart building to raise critical funds to aid the fight to find a cure or control for cystic fibrosis.   

A number of bands will be performing including:?Reunion featuring Ronnie Melancon, Coozan, TK Hulin & GG Shinn and Jamie Bergeron & the kickin’ Cajuns, Cliff Nickens, Kenny Cornett & Killin’ Time, Ryan Foret & The Foret Tradition, Treater with Charles Mann, Kenny Fife & Bac Trac, Warren Storm, Willie T & Cypress with Tommy McLain, and Van Broussard & The Bayou Boogie Band with special guest Grace Broussard.

The festival will feature a two-day Jambalaya Association Cook-Off.

An open truck and car show presented by Alternate Route Cruisers will take place on Saturday and guests will also have to opportunity to meet Trapper Joe LaFont, Trigger Tommy & The Guist Brothers from the hit show Swamp People on The History Channel. 

All proceeds benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Admission to the 14th Annual Swamp Pop Festival is $12 on Friday and $10 on Saturday.
