LSU to open 2012 football slate with North Texas, Washington

BATON ROUGE - LSU's home game against Washington in 2012 has been moved up three weeks to Sept. 8, senior associate athletic director Verge Ausberry, who is in charge of football scheduling, announced on Monday.

The Tigers were originally scheduled to play the Huskies in Tiger Stadium on Sept. 29, however the teams mutually agreed to move the game to the second week of the season. LSU opens the 2012 season in Tiger Stadium against North Texas in the first of what will be eight home games for the Tigers next year.
