Notice of Proposed Merger

Notice is hereby given that Investar Bank, 7244 Perkins Road, Baton Rouge, Parish of East Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70808 has made application to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation for approval to merge with South Louisiana Business Bank, 38567 Hwy 42, Prairieville, Parish of Ascension, Louisiana 70769, with Investar Bank being the resultant banking corporation.  Any person wishing to comment on this application may file his or her comments in writing with the Regional Director of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation at its Area Office at 5100 Poplar Avenue, Suite 1900, Memphis, Tennessee 38137, not later than July 18, 2011.  The nonconfidential portions of the application are on file in the Area Office and are available for public inspection during regular business hours.  Photocopies of information in the nonconfidential portion of the application file will be made available upon request.  It is contemplated that all offices of the above-named institutions will continue to be operated.

ORDINANCE # 11-06

   An ordinance to set 6.11 mills as the adjusted rate for 2011.

   BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF SORRENTO THAT: the Town of Sorrento of the Parish of Ascension, Louisiana, in a public meeting/hearing held on June 21,2011, which meeting/hearing was conducted in accordance with the Open Meetings Law and the additional requirements of Article VII, Section 23(C) of the Louisiana Constitution and R.S. 47:1705(B), that the following adjusted millage rates be and they are hereby levied upon the dollar of the assessed valuation of all property subject to ad valorem taxation within said Parish for the year 2011, for the purpose of raising revenue:

   BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Assessor of the Parish of Ascension shall extend upon the assessment roll for the year 2011 the taxes herein levied, and the tax collector of said Parish shall collect and remit the same to said taxing authority in accordance with law.

Household Hazardous Materials Collection

Scope:

1.  To collect all materials donated by Ascension Parish residents.

a). Materials to be collected at the 2010 event: Automobile tires, car and golf cart batteries, electronic equipment, fluorescent bulbs, gasoline, oil, antifreeze, home and garden chemicals, household batteries, ink and toner cartridges, latex and oil based paints, solvents, varnishes, scrap metal, rechargeable batteries, propane tanks.

2.  To dispose of all materials in an environmentally responsible method, with close attention to compliance of all  state and parish rules and regulations.

3.  To work closely with Ascension Parish officials to make the HHMD a successful event.

4.  To provide transportation and disposal of materials collected

5.  To provide the necessary equipment and tools for collection and transportation of materials collected, except for any items that may be provided by Ascension Parish partners

6.  To provide assistance for site setup and layout

7.  To assist in volunteer and staff training

8.  To provide qualified staff trained in waste handling and with experience in this type of event.

9.  To provide an emergency contingency plan for this event.

10.  To provide a spill prevention plan to be used in case of an emergency spill

Deliverables:

Contractor will provide the following upon completion of the HHMD event:

1.  A full report and accounting of all materials collected

2.  Official record of disposal for all materials collected

3.  An invoice with detailed information on specific expenses incurred for collection of materials and disposal.

Six (6) copies of proposal required.  A copy of the Ascension Parish Professional Selection Committee Score Card may be obtained at the Ascension Parish Purchasing Department, 120 East Railroad Street, Gonzales, Louisiana 70737.
