Dancing for a Cause coming to Ascension

Dancing for a Cause is coming to Gonzales once again, and this year, the dancers are already getting their routines together.

The event is organized to raise funds for the  numerous community programs provided by the ARC of East Ascension.

Female dancers this year are Brooke LeBlanc Knight with LeBlanc’s Food Stores, Wanda August with Ascension Parish?School Board, Marie Broussard with Coldwell Banker, and Jodi Loar with Color Wheel.

Male Dancers are Kevin “Chef K.D.”?Diez with Chef K.D. Catering, Mark Dearman with Rubicon, Gus Gutierrez with Our Lady of the lake’s Baton?Rouge Physical Therapy, Russell Graham with Louisiana State Troopers Troop A, and Scott Banker with EATEL.

Female instructors are Beverly Cook, Courtney Black, Mary Bayle, Jewell Reid, and Dina Melley.

Male instructors are Le’Brian Patrick, Leonard Augustus Jr., Victor Loviera, and Guillermo Gonzales.

The action is set to take place on  Saturday, July 9, at the Lamar-Dixon?Expo Center, and tickets are already on sale at LeBlanc’s Food Stores in Gonzales, Prairieville and Donaldsonville.

Chairperson of the event, Sharon Morris, is excited about the fundraising spectacular.

“We want everyone to come on out and support this worthwhile event,”?she said. “The ARC of East Ascension is so needed in?Ascension?Parish.?This is just one more way to ensure we are successful. We still need more sponsors, though, so call us to show your support.”

Corporate sponsorship is available in a variety of different packages.

This year’s Honorary?Chair is Gonzales Mayor Barney Arceneaux, who is looking forward to taking part in the event.

“It certainly is an important event. COEA is a great cause, and the funds are needed to continue their wide array or services. I’m excited. I was one of the first MC’s, then I was a judge. It’s wonderful to still be involved,” he said.

Dancing for a Cause hosts are Legislative Liaison for the Louisiana Department of Transportation Roy Quezaire and EATEL's own Jenny Heroman.

Everyone is welcome to attend the event, which is steadily becoming a fan favorite with residents.
