Local players compete in LHSCA All-Star softball games

A group of local players participated in the Louisiana High School Coaches Association’s All-Star softball games Friday and Saturday at Louisiana College in Pineville.

Players from Ascension Parish included Dutchtown’s Jade Bourgeois (catcher), East Ascension’s Tiffany Robinson (catcher) and East Ascension’s Chelsea LeBlanc (utility).

Ouachita Christian’s Joy Thomas was the head coach for the East team. Vandebilt Catholic’s Margaret Johnson was the head coach for the West.

The West rallied Friday night, scoring four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to take a 9-8 win.

The East team evened the two-game series, helped by the arm of Chelsea LeBlanc, by picking up a 5-1 victory.
