Gonzales Flames take second straight championship

The Gonzales Soccer Club U17 Flames won the state championship for the second year in a row.

The team went undefeated this season and achieved shutouts in all four games of the state tournament.

The Flames will advance to the regionals in Decatur, Alabama June 9-12.

The team will hold fundraisers around the area.

A multi-family garage sale will be from 6 a.m.-2 p.m. at Karate Konnection at 16172 Airline Hwy. in Prairieville (next to Acadiana Optical) on Saturday, May 21.

A car wash will be from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. and pulled pork sandwiches will be sold starting at 10 a.m.

A jamabalaya fundraiser will be held at Lowe’s in Gonzales on Sunday, May 22 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
