The Louisiana Wildlife Rehabilitators Association (LAWRA) has established a statewide phone hotline for wildlife

rehabilitation response to the impending flooding event affecting large portions of Louisiana. If any member of the public discovers a wild animal displaced, injured or orphaned anywhere in the State of Louisiana they are encouraged to locate their local wildlife rehabilitator by calling the hotline at 888-308-3922.

LAWRA would also like to remind members of the public that not every wild animal is necessarily in distress and not every animal needs to be rescued. The public should contact their local wildlife rehabilitator to determine if a rescue is needed and should never attempt to handle or rescue any wild animal unless they are properly trained, licensed and equipped.
