Arrest made in Geismar murder
Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives investigating a Feb. 17 homicide in Geismar arrested Dominique Brown, 19 of 9418 Williams St., Gonzales, late Wednesday night and charged him with the murder of Todd Hall.
Brown was established as a suspect in the case early in the investigation and a search warrant was executed at his home on the day of the murder, according to Chief Deputy Tony Bacala.
During the search, narcotics and narcotics paraphernalia were found along with a stolen cell phone and Brown was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of Schedule IV Narcotics, and possession of stolen property.
Further investigation continued to yield evidence that Brown had committed the murder and a warrant for his arrest for Second Degree Murder was obtained on Feb. 23, Bacala said.
Brown was still in jail on the previous charges when arrested for the murder.
