Governor appoints Lambert to LSU Board of Supervisors
Gov Bobby Jindal announced appointment of Louis Lambert of Prairieville to the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors.
Lambert is an attorney, businessman, former member and chairman of the Public Service Commission, and a former Louisiana State Senator. He will be appointed to serve as an at-large member, as required by statute.
The University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors’ responsibilities include, but are not limited to, selecting the presidents of system institutions, determining fees paid by students, purchasing land and buildings for universities, formulating curricula and programs of study, exchanging university property, seeking financial assistance for universities, and allocating university system expenditures.
According to statute, the board is comprised of 16 members, including one student member, two members from each congressional district, and one at-large member. All gubernatorial appointments are subject to Senate confirmation.
