Ascension Catholic’s Adam Falcon chosen for All-America tournament in Arizona

Adam Falcon, a senior at Ascension Catholic, was selected as a 2011 Under Armour/Baseball Factory Preseason All American.

Players were chosen for the honor based on recommendations from professional scouts.

Falcon played in the Under Armour All-America baseball tournament Jan. 14-16 at the Kino Sports Complex in Tucson, Arizona, along with more than 250 players from across the country.

Guest speaker Brian McCrae, who played for the Kansas City Royals, presented Falcon with his certificate.

At 6-foot-4, 257 pounds, Falcon is a pitcher and first baseman.

In his junior season, he led the state in all classes with 55 RBIs.

In the Under Armour tournament, he struck out five of 12 batters and hit .428. He played on Team South, which consisted of 17 players (two from Louisiana). Falcon played every inning of the three games.
