Ascension Parish soccer teams prepare for playoffs

Alyssa LeBlanc and the No. 14 East Ascension girls soccer team will host No. 19 Terrebonne Saturday at 11 a.m.

The Dutchtown boys soccer team received the No. 4 seed in the Division I-Class 5A state playoffs, leading local teams.

The Griffins recently wrapped a 17-5 regular season. Dutchtown was a quarterfinalist last season. The Griffins will host No. 29 Terrebonne.

The St. Amant boys were seeded No. 7, while East Ascension took No. 14.

St. Amant hosts No. 26 H.L. Bourgeois.

East Ascension will welcome No. 19 Baton Rouge High.

In the girls bracket, Dutchtown garnered the No. 11 seed. East Ascension took the No. 14 spot. St. Amant goes in as No. 18.

Dutchtown hosts No. 22 Natchitoches Central.

East Ascension will welcome No. 19 Terrebonne.

St. Amant travels to take on No. 15 Caddo Magnet.

The seeding was based on a ranking completed by playoff-bound coaches.

Weather permitting, most contests are set for Saturday.

Here is the schedule of Saturday’s bidistrict soccer playoff games:

Girls (Division I-Class 5A)

Terrebonne at East Ascension, 11 a.m.

St. Amant vs. Caddo Magnet at Lee Hedges Stadium (Shreveport), noon

Natchitoches Central at Dutchtown, 2 p.m.

Boys (Division I-Class 5A)

Baton Rouge High at East Ascension, 2 p.m.

H.L. Bourgeois at St. Amant, 3 p.m.

Terrebonne at Dutchtown, 5 p.m.

Adam Pittman and the Dutchtown boys soccer team received the No. 4 seed in the Division I-Class 5A state playoffs. The Griffins took the highest seed of the six local teams in the playoffs.
