LA Loggers, in conjunction with the Children’s Miracle Network, has announced the dates for this year’s 2011 Bass Classic.

The event, held annually, raises much needed funds for Louisiana children in need.

The tournament will take place on Saturday, March 19, at St. James Boat Club. Teams of anglers are asked to register beginning at 6:30 p.m. on March 17, by going to ololchildrens.org. Pre-registration is currently open at the same address.

Tournament Director, Steve Stewart said they are hoping to have up to 200 boats in the water for the event, with each boat holding a team of two participants. “If we get more,” he said, “we won’t turn anyone away.”

Each participants name will be placed into a drawing, with one name being pulled. The winner will receive a new boat on behalf of Ascension Marine and Carolina Skiff.

During the event, there will also be a Jambalaya/Pastalaya cook-off, so spectators are asked to bring their appetites.
