LOTD plans new left lane turn on Hwy. 22

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has given the green light for new construction within the parish.

Workers will begin the creation of a new left-turn lane on Hwy. 22 at its intersection with Airline Highway. The work will take place throughout the nights and weekends, and closures will be necessary.

“We are excited to be nearing completion on a project that will benefit the residents in Ascension Parish. Creating a left turn lane on La. 22 westbound at U.S. 61 southbound will help to relieve congestion for the approximately 10,000 motorists who use this intersection each day,” said DOTD Public Information Officer Amber Hebert.

The closures will be Monday through Thursday from 6:30 p.m. until 5:30 a.m., and again from 6:30 p.m. Friday until 5:30 a.m. Monday.
