State Troopers searching for Toyota hit and run vehicle

Louisiana State Police are searching for a hit and run vehicle that struck a young woman last night and left her with life-threatening injuriesdcrash involving a pedestrian last night in Ascension Parish on Hwy 42.

Spokesman TFC Russell G. Graham said in a release Tuesday morning that the crash occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Hwy 42 east of Hwy 431 when an unknown vehicle traveling westbound on Hwy 42 struck a young woman walking along the roadway and did not stop.

Tommie Hadley, 22,  of Prairieville sustained life-threatening injuries when she was struck and was transported to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital by Acadian Ambulance Airmed, according to Graham.

Troopers said evidence gathered at the scene suggests that the vehicle is either a silver Toyota 4-Runner or a silver Toyota Tacoma Pre-Runner, model years between 2003 and 2005.

Troopers said there will be damage to the right front corner of the vehicle. The right front fender flare and the right lower corner of the front bumper are missing. The right side mirror is also missing.

The damage should be very noticeable, Graham said.

Troopers are continuing the investigation and following all leads. The Louisiana State Police Crime Lab is processing the scene of the crash for additional evidence.
