New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees, the reigning Super Bowl MVP, was voted the 2010 Male Athlete of the Year.

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees was voted the 2010 Male Athlete of the Year.

The regining Super Bowl MVP received 48 votes from members of the AP. There were 176 ballots submitted.

Brees topped the 2009 Male Athlete of the Year, NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson, who had 31 votes. Boxer Manny Pacquiao placed third with 21 votes, followed by Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Roy Halladay with 17 and Philadelphia Eagles quarerback Michael Vick with 10.
