Tens of thousands attend JFA Christmas Parade

A crowd estimated at over 30,000 people lined up on a beautiful but cold day to catch a glimpse of Santa and his elves Sunday for the Jambalaya Festival Association Ascension Christmas Parade, sponsored by EATEL.
“I was really worried about the temperatures, but the floats started coming in around 9:30 a.m. and we could see people had already started getting their spots to watch the parade, and we knew everything would be great,” said Fran Baker of the JFA.
The parade rolled at 2 p.m. with 104 entries floats, including Grand Marshall Van and Grace Broussard, and the “Spirit of Louisiana.”
