East Ascension girls soccer raises funds for breast cancer awareness

East Ascension’s girls soccer team held its inaugural breast cancer awareness soccer games Tuesday night.

The Lady Spartans, clad in pink uniforms, raised more than $2,200 to donate for the cause, coach Chris Goodall said.

It was an all-around good night for East Ascension, as the varsity squad took a 3-0 win over St. Michael.

After neither team scored in the first half, Rebecca Austin scored a hat trick in the second.

St. Michael’s goalkeeper collected 19 saves.

The Spartans improved to 4-3, while St. Michael dropped to 1-8-3.

In other action, the East Ascension junior varsity took a 2-0 win.
