Fire causes Lutcher High School football stadium to be unusable
Baton Rouge, LA- Due to a fire Lutcher High School on Nov. 15 that caused significant damage to the home side stadium rooms and bleachers, the stadium will be unusable until structural repairs can be completed according to State Fire Marshal H. “Butch” Browning.
The fire started in a storage area and damaged much of the underside of the stadium causing serious concerns as to the structural safety of the bleachers and public seating area. Fire Marshal Engineers have been on site and are consulting with St. James Parish School Officials to determine in the months to come a plan of action to rebuild the structure to a safe condition and meet all regulations so it can be occupied again.
Fire Marshal Investigators have determined that this fire was intentionally set and this arson crime is actively being investigated in cooperation with the St. James Sheriff.
