Bicycle and pedestrian safety session planned

The Bicycle and Pedestrian Public Safety Education Committee of the Capital Region Planning Commission will host a public meeting Nov. 17 at 6 p.m. to receive ideas and input for a public education campaign to improve safety.

Bicyclists, pedestrians, runners and joggers who use streets for transportation or recreation are urged to attend and give feedback on the most common safety issues that should be addressed.

Ascension Parish is one of five parishes making up the commission Capital Region.

The meeting will be held at the BREC Tennis Recreation and Fitness Center, Room 137, at 7505 Independence Boulevard in Baton Rouge. 

"The public meeting is being held for anyone who uses the streets and roads in the five parishes to give ideas and input to help with the development of the public education campaign," said Huey  Dugas,  CRPC executive director.
