Master Gardeners to present seminars

East Baton Rouge Parish Master Gardeners will present The Autumn Gardener series at the Jones Creek Library on three consecutive Thursday evenings, Sept. 16, Sept. 23 and Sept. 30,  from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided.

During the sessions Master Gardeners will share their knowledge on the following topics and field questions from the audience.

Sept. 16

• Landscape Planning- Start with a plan, the key to a beautiful landscape. This program provides the basics for designing your own landscape.

• Easy Seeding- Try an easy and economical way of adding color to your garden: grow annuals from seed.

Sept. 23

• Installing Micro Irrigation –You don’t have to be a professional to keep your plants healthy. Learn how to plan and install your own micro irrigation system.

• Vegetable Gardening- How to make beds, select, plant and grow vegetable crops.

Sept. 30

• Favorite trees and shrubs- Selecting trees and shrubs for shade, color, hurricane resistance. Know which ones are right for your yard and how to plant and care for them.

• Bulbs- Learn the bulb plants that grow best here, how to select bulbs, how to prepare your soil, plant and care for them.
