Volunteer firefighters from the 7th District worked to contain a trailer fire at 150809 Kerri Drive in St. Amant Tuesday, but much of the structure was heavily damaged by the fire and suffered smoke damage. Residents in the area said they believed blaze apparently started in a shed which adjoined the trailer. Two persons in the trailer when the fire started, Farra Shell and Eddie Savage started smelling burning rubber, and then the shed blazed up suddenly. They escaped the fire unharmed. A friend in the area went back and saved the dog belonging to Roy Savage, who rented the trailer and was at work when the fire started.
