LSU two-sport star injured in car crash

BATON ROUGE -- Former LSU two-sport standout Chad Jones was involved in a serious car accident Friday at around 6:15 a.m. in New Orleans, according to the athlete's agent.
Jones was transported in "guarded" condition to the LSU Health System's Interim LSU Public Hospital.
The New York Giants drafted Jones, and seven weeks later, the Milwaukee Brewers selected him in the MLB Draft. Jones signed a contract to play in the NFL June 11.
While at LSU, Jones earned a 2007 national championship ring and three letters as a safety for the Tigers football team 2007-09. He also won the 2009 national title as a pitcher and outfielder on the baseball team.
LSU head football coach Les Miles posted on his Twitter account: "We are praying for Chad and his family. Keep him in your prayers."
