COEA schedules gala ‘Dancing for a Cause’ in July
Once again, the community stars of Ascension Parish will be hitting the stage and Dancing for a Cause.
On July 10, the ARC of East Ascension, will once again host its fundraiser “Dancing for a Cause” at the Lamar-Dixon Expo Center.
COEA is an advocacy group based in Ascension Parish with the mission of enhancing the quality of life for persons with disabilities and their families through services and advocacy that support choice, independence and dignity.
This year, notable leaders of Ascension Parish and the surrounding areas have donated their time and efforts to learn to two-step, sashay, tango, waltz and rumba.
On July 10, not only will the event goers get to socialize and enjoy some delicious Louisiana cuisine, they'll get to see all these amazing leaders dance the night away, with all proceeds will benefit the ARC of Ascension - COEA.
COEA and Honorary Chairperson Glenn Dorsey hope to have a large crowd this year because there's nothing better than Dancing for a Cause.
Sponsorship opportunities are still available and are gladly welcomed. Additionally, tickets go on sale May 14th. For more information on both the sponsorship opportunities and ticket purchasing contact the COEA office at 225-621-2000 or Committee Chair Sharon Morris at 225-955-4683.
Founded in 1964, the COEA, located in Gonzales has been working actively to promote the interests of persons in the community with disabilities and their families. Originally founded by a group of parents with children with developmental disabilities, the COEA has blossomed into an agency that is well known as the primary resource for families in need of support for their children or family member with developmental disabilities.
