Dutchtown's Ricky Lawrence leads All-Metro selections

Dutchtown senior forward Ricky Lawrence has been chosen the Most Valuable Player of the 2010 All-Metro Boys Soccer Team.

A first-team Division I all-state selection and MVP, Lawrence scored 44 goals and tallied 11 assists as he led the Griffins to the quarterfinals last season. He finished his career with 71 goals 32 assists.

Lawrence inked a letter of intent with the University of Central Florida on National Signing Day.

His teammates Grant Auzenne, Ryan Reid and Adam Pittman also made the All-Metro squad, which was selected by area coaches.

Auzenne, a senior defender, was the Division I, District 6 co-defensive MVP.

Reid, a sophomore forward, scored 14 goals and finished with 16 assists.

Freshman goalkeeper Adam Pittman had 15 shutouts for the Griffins. He was the first freshman on the metro team in eight years.

East Ascension senior midfielder Carlos Hermosillo represented the Spartans on the metro squad. He was the district co-defensive MVP.

St. Amant sophomore midfielder Jaxon Lambert was the offensive MVP in the district, as he finished with 29 goals and 15 assists for the Gators.
