Poindexter, Alice Yancey
On Jan. 14, 2010, the Creator reached out His hand to Alice Yancey Poindexter to bring her home. Alice was 79 years young. She was a proud lady, who worked extremely hard to take care of her family. She raised three children; her youngest brother Pat, (Alice was 15 years old when Pat was born), a daughter Frances and a son Emory (Wes). A sister Jo (of Bend, Oregon) a brother Neil (5 years younger) lives in Georgia, and a deceased sister, Doris. Herb Moreau is Alice’s son-in-law and Herb loved her as though she was his mom, too. Herb spent many days passing time with her in her final days. For the last 3 years Alice had a special guardian in Herb. He watched over her. Her grandchildren: Tony, Lorraine, Kaci, Kody and great grandchildren will miss her very much. Alice was respected and loved so much by everyone and she always gave respect and love right back. She would help anyone and always thought the best of all. On Sunday, Jan. 17, 2010, we held a Memorial Service for her. We wanted to celebrate the life of Alice in a private, special way. She was brought back to Lithia Springs, Ga. to be buried with her parents in a private cemetery. Alice, Mom, Sis, Maw Maw, Me-Maw, Aunt and God’s gift to us will be greatly missed but, we will see her again, With all our love. Your Family.
