A native of White Castle, she died at her home in Donaldsonville on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, at 4 a.m. She was 87. Interment in Protestant Cemetery, Donaldsonville.

Carbo, Alma Dugas

She was 97 and died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, at Baton Rouge Health Care Center. She was a homemaker, KC Auxiliary member and a resident of Donaldsonville. She was born July 27, 1912, in Brusly McCall. Burial at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church mausoleum, Donaldsonville.

Johnson, Jimmy "Jam"

A resident of Baton Rouge, he passed away Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 56 and a native of Prairieville. Burial in Prairieville Cemetery.

Jones, Deanna Marie 'DJ' "Dede"

She died in her home in Prairieville at 5:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 1, 2010. She was 50 and a native of Baton Rouge. Entombment in Holy Rosary Mausoleum will be at a later date.

Long Jr., James Clay

An electrician and a resident of Port Vincent, he died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Gonzales. He was 63 and a native of Alabama. Interment in Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.

Smith, Prentiss Lionel "Smitty"

He was 67 and died Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was a resident of Maurepas and a retired field engineer for the City of Baton Rouge. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., on Tuesday, Jan. 12, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation resumes at the funeral home on Wednesday, Jan. 13, from 9 a.m. until time of service at 10 a.m. Burial in Greenoaks Memorial Park.

Spiers, Kerrie Lynn Riedlinger “KK”

A native of Baton Rouge and resident of Gonzales, she died Jan. 8, 2010 at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital at the age of 47. There will be a visitation Wednesday, Jan. 13, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. There will be a memorial service at 6 p.m. with the Rev. Reuben Reynolds, officiating. Interment will be Thursday, January 14, 2010, at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church in Brusly. She is survived by her parents, Roy Phillip Jr. and Mary Lynn Gibson Riedlinger; brother and a sister-in-law, Ricky Sr. and Sylvia Riedlinger; sister, Kim Riedlinger; grandmother, Marie Saloom; nephews, Ricky Jr., RJ, Liam, and Laton; nieces, Ashley, Brandi, Krystal, and Kelcie; her best friend, Beth Brickman; and her beloved pet, Sierra. She was preceded in death by sister, Hollie Riedlinger; grandfather, Roy Riedlinger Sr., and grandparents, Harold and Eula Mae Gibson. A Donaldsonville city employee, he died Friday, Jan. 1, 2010, in Baton Rouge. He was 62, a native of St. James and resident of Donaldsonville. Burial in St. Luke Baptist Church Cemetery.

Williams, Rhonda Earline

A native of Baton Rouge and resident of Saint Amant, she was 58 and died of lung cancer at 12:02 a.m. Friday, Jan. 8, 2010, at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice. Burial in Faithful Methodist Church Cemetery.
