Benhaim, Agatha Cecila Braud

She retired from Exxon Corp. and was a resident of Baton Rouge. She passed away Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Mid City. She was 89 and a native of Prairieville. She was a graduate of Dutchtown High School. Interment in Prairieville Cemetery.

Cushinberry Jr., Elliott Joseph “Cush”

A contract painter and resident of Donaldsonville, he died Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, at Prevost Memorial Hospital. He was 37 and a native of New Roads. Interment in St. Augustine Catholic Church Cemetery, New Roads. He was a former member of the “Human Jukebox” Marching Band at Southern University.

Gustave, Ruth Ann

She was a former employee of Burger King and was a cosmetic specialist at Walgreens in Dutchtown. She was born on July 31, 1959 and died Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009. She was 50. Interment in Progressive Baptist Church Cemetery.

McAllister, Brian Keith

A resident of New River Group Home in Gonzales and a native of Zachary, he died Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Gonzales. He was 24. Arrangements are pending with Charlet Funeral Home Inc., Zachary.

Montet, Charles Mark

A retired employee with the U.S Postal Service and resident of Gonzales, he died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009, at his home. He was 90 and a native of Kentwood. He was an Army veteran of World War II, having received two Bronze Stars, the Purple Heart, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and Philippine Liberation Medal. Burial in Faithful United Cemetery, 14253 La. 431, St. Amant. He was a 1937 graduate of Catholic High School.

Schexnailder Sr., Robert “Booda” Hoyt, PhD.

A devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and friend, he passed away on Dec. 27, 2009 after a brief but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 69 and the retired owner and CEO of Oak Grove Smokehouse in Prairieville from 1972 to 2005. He was a graduate of Dutchtown High class of 1958 and Southeastern class of 1964. He later went on to earn a Masters and a PhD in food nutrition from LSU. Visiting will be at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Tuesday, Dec. 29 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.. Visiting at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church on Wednesday from 9:30 Am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Interment to follow in Oak Lane Memorial Park, Prairieville. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Sara Babette Forbes Schexnailder; daughter, Ernestine Yvette Morrison; son, Robert H. Schexnailder Jr. and his wife Jill; sister, Annabel Servat of Walker; brother, Sam B. Schexnailder of Mobile, Ala.; five grandchildren, Shelby Grace Schexnailder, Hannah Marie Schexnailder, “KJ” McLean V, Arlene Morrison, and Malcom Morrison Jr.; three great- grandchildren, Kenley McLean, Melody Morrison, and Robert Morrison. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert  E. Schexnailder Jr. and Grace Brown Schexnailder and his mother in law and father in law, Dorothy B. Kyle and Sammie L. Forbes. Pallbearers will be James “Sonny” Cutrer, Jimmy Arceneaux, Byron Gautreau, Richard Daigle, Jay Faust and Walter Simmons. Honorary pallbearers will be Martinis Buratt, “KJ” McLean, V, Malcom Morrison, Jr., Ronald Sapp, Ralph Marino, Gilbert Taillon, Dean Berteau, and Manny Simoneaux. Up until his recent illness, he could be seen riding his four wheeler “mode of operada,” cooking at Oak Grove Smokehouse and sitting at his “barn” drinking with his many friends. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus Council 8342. The family would like to thank Dr. Gerald Miletello and his staff at the Hematology-Oncology Clinic. Washington, Alva Lee “Killer”

He died Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009, in Geismar. He was born Feb. 8, 1947 and was a resident and native of Geismar. Interment First Pilgrim Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery in Geismar.
