Child Advocacy Services adds recruiters

Staff reports
Donna Bliss, left, and Connie Stein

Child Advocacy Services recently welcomed Connie Stein and Donna Bliss as the two new CASA Recruiters for the Florida and River Parishes Regions.

Stein will be responsible for CASA volunteer recruitment for the River Parish service area of CAS including St. James, St. John, St. Charles, Assumption, and Ascension parishes and Bliss will be responsible for CASA volunteer recruitment for the Florida Parish service area including St. Helena, Tangipahoa, Livingston, East Feliciana, and West Feliciana parishes.

After serving as the Advocate Coordinator of CAS for St. James, Assumption, and Ascension Parishes over the last two years, Stein has transitioned into a focus of recruitment. Following 20 years of sales, marketing, and product development in the lumber industry, Bliss began with CAS as an AmeriCorp VISTA.

She said she is excited about the work ahead of her and has already brought many ideas about volunteer recruitment and retention in her service area.

Court Appointed Special Advocates program recruits, trains and supervises volunteers who serve as voices for abused and neglected children.
