Bourland, David Lee
He was 59 and died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, at his home in French Settlement. Visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Highway, Gonzales, Wednesday, Dec. 2, from 2 p.m. until memorial service at 3 p.m. He was employed by Total Petro Chemical and was a retired production supervisor for Vulcan Chemical.
Brown, LeVea Arlona
She was 71 and died Friday, Nov. 27, 2009, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Fort Collins, Colo., and a resident of Prairieville. Visiting at the First Apostolic Church, 14525 Hwy. 44, Gonzales, Tuesday, Dec. 1, from 11 a.m. until service at 1 p.m. Interment in Life Tabernacle Cemetery, Galvez.
Doiron, Lynn Clement
A native of White Castle, he died early Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, at his home in Prairieville. He was 60. During the Vietnam War he served his country in the U.S. Army and received a Purple Heart. He was employed at Stratos Elevator Co. Cremation followed the services. He was a graduate of Catholic High School and attended Nicholls State University.
A native of Germany, an American citizen and longtime resident of Prairieville. “Miss Rose” died at 6:40 p.m. Nov. 21, 2009. She was 83 years old. Many knew and love her as the knowledgeable and kind manager of the Treasure Chest Flea Market at Airline Hwy. and Hwy. 42. She will be missed by her church family as well. A memorial service will be held at noon on Dec. 6 at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Prairieville. Desormeaux, Monica Faye Arceneaux
She died at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center Thursday, Nov. 26, 2009. She was 57 and was born March 16, 1952, in Church Point. She is a graduate of Mount Carmel High School in New Iberia. In 2007 she moved to Gonzales. A funeral will be held at Bethany World Prayer Center in Baker Tuesday at 10 a.m. Interment at Resthaven Gardens of Memory in Baton Rouge.
Fleming Sr., Albert “Bud”
He died Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, at his residence in Donaldsonville. He was 58 and a native of Belle Rose. Burial in Virginia Baptist Church Cemetery.
Johnson Sr., Arthur Lee “Rock” “Whiskey”
A retired employee of Illinois Central Railroad, he died Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, Baton Rouge. He was 81, a native of Bude, Miss., and a resident of Sorrento. Burial in Von Hofe Cemetery, Darrow.
Himel, David Lee Joseph
A retired supervisor at the LSU Facility Plant, he died at his home in Duplessis Friday, Nov. 27, 2009. He was 71 and was a native of Geismar. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and Louisiana National Guard 769th, stationed in Donaldsonville. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Latour, Roceil Ahles “Polly”
Born in Ripon, Calif., on Nov. 14, 1926, and a resident of Donaldsonville, she died at 7 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, after a brief illness at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Interment in St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church Cemetery.
North, Wilfred "Pookie"
A janitor and a resident and native of Donaldsonville, he died Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, at Prevost Memorial Hospital, Donaldsonville. He was 44. Visiting at Virginia Baptist Church, Ewellville, on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m. Interment in church cemetery.
Reid, Robert “Bob”
He was 76, a resident of Prairieville. He died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009. He retired from the U. S. Marine Corps with the rank of gunny sergeant. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., on Wednesday, Dec. 2, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a memorial service at 7 p.m. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
Schexnayder, Dorothy Ann
She was 72 and a resident of French Settlement. She died Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009. Visitation at Pine Grove Baptist Church, Livingston, Tuesday, Dec. 1, from 8 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Interment in church cemetery.
Tesson, Craig Thomas
A Realtor and resident of Gonzales, he died Monday, Nov. 23, 2009. He was 52 and a native of Baton Rouge. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., on Wednesday, Dec. 2, from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., with religious service from 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Van Sickel, Jeffrey Allen "Jeff"
He died in French Settlement Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009 after a 13-month battle with lung cancer. He was 46 years and was born on Sept. 19, 1963, in Memphis, Tenn. Interment in First Baptist Church Cemetery of French Settlement.
She was 80 and a resident of Gonzales. She died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009. Interment in Faithful Methodist Church Cemetery, St. Amant.
