Dutchtown’s Dilldine captures runner-up in two freestyles at state meet

Dutchtown’s Alyssa Dilldine places second to University’s Katherine Miles in the 500-yard freestyle at the city swim meet earlier this month. Dilldine placed second to Northshore’s Heather Winn in both the 200 and 500-yard freestyles at the state swim meet finals Saturday in Sullphur.

SULPHUR – Dutchtown’s Alyssa Dilldine was the state runner-up in both the 200 and 500-yard freestyle at the Louisiana High School Athletic Association’s State Swim Meet Finals Saturday at SPAR?Aquatic Center.

Dilldine touched in 1:55.59 in the 200 just behind Heather Winn’s time of 1:54.54 from Northshore. Winn also won the 500 with a time of 5:02.16 ahead of Dilldine’s 5:06.55.

Northshore won the team title followed by Fontainebleau and Mandeville. East Ascension was 11th and Dutchtown placed 15, while St. Amant was 23rd.

Jesuit won the boys’ team title followed by Catholic and Northshore. Dutchtown placed 23rd.

Dutchtown’s Charles Doofe placed seventh in the boys 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:07.27

East Ascension’s Hannah Core placed fifth in the girls’ 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.60 and was eighth in the 200-yard freestyle touching in 2:04.58.

Gabrielle Core of East Ascension was 10th in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 58.48 and 13th in the 100-yard backstroke touching in 1:07.08.

East Ascension’s relay team of Hannah Core, Megan Delatte, Ashton Glaze and Kacy Haydel took sixth in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:55.67.

St. Amant’s Lara Hutchtinson took 10th in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:17.10.

Dutchtown’s 400-yard relay team of Doofe, Jay Karasuik, Eric Ferrell and Alex Cruz was 15th with a time of 3:43.38.
