Dutchtown rolls past Lady Gators in St. Amant Jamboree

ST. AMANT – Dutchtown jumped out to a 19-9 halftime lead in the second game and crusied to a 41-22 victory.

Kaittlin McClure’s pull up jumper knotted it up 9-9 in the first half before the Lady Griffins closed out the period on a 10-0 run.

“We had to face adversity early on when they went ahead,” St. Amant head coach Kristy Englade said. “Our shoulders went down and it is going to take time with the youth and inexperience that we have. We got tired at the end and lost focus mentally but I think we will overcome that.”

K.K.?Acy’s putback opened the contest before Brelle Ford’s and Ka’Neshia Cobbins’ drives. Cobbins’ dish to LaToya Evans along the baseline in transition preceded Acy’s pull up jumper.

Brittany Lacy’s dish Jodi Hill inside opened Dutchtown’s run followed by Cobbins’ lay up off a steal, Hill’s dish to Maureen Gros inside and Cobbins reverse putback.

Kandace Boudreaux’s dish to Acy off a steal cut Dutchtown’s lead to 26-15 in the second half before Evans fed Gros inside.

Boudreaux’s 3-pointer from the right wing from McClure preceded Ciera Dukes’ 19-footer and one from the left wing and Bria Turner’s pull up jumper in the lane.

Cobbins’ free throws reflected the final tally after Dukes’ drive and Cobbins weaved lane.

Cobbins led all scorers with 14 points, while Dukes added nine for Dutchtown, Ford had six, Gross finished with five and Evans had four

Acy led St.?Amant with six points, followed by McClure’s seven, Boudreaux’s five and Turner’s four.
