Alldredge, Ann Gibbens
She was a resident of Prairieville and a native of St. Louis, Mo. She died Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Friday from 9:30 a.m. until service at 11 a.m., conducted by Deacon Randall Clement. Burial in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
Freeman Sr., Henry Rex
Henry Rex Freeman Sr., a resident of At. Amant, passed away Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009 at Our Lady Of The Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge. He was 71. He was born June 24, 1938 in Annte County, Miss., to parents John Henry Freeman and Lizzie Ena Bradshaw Freeman. He was a retired truck driver who loved baseball, football and playing Dominoes. He was a member of Cladding Baptist Church in Magnolia, Miss. He is survived by his wife, Marion Dawson Freeman of St. Amant; a son, Henry R. “Hank” Freeman Jr. of St. Amant; a daughter, C. Janeen Duhe and husband, Troy of St. Amant; two grandchildren, Casey and Blake Rushing of St. Amant; one step-grandson, Blake Duhe of St. Amant; two brothers, J.C. Freeman and his wife, Jewel of Magnolia, Miss and John Freeman of Adona, Ark.; four sisters, Myrtle Jackson of Brookhaven, Miss., Bonell Roberts of Miss., Vera Zeigler of Magnolia, Miss, and Dee Zeigler and her husband, J.A. of Magnolia, Miss. He leaves a host of nieces and nephews, two special friends, Danny Herbst of Panama, Iowa and Elroy Johnston of N.D. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Stephen D. Freeman; two sisters, Maugarette Freeman and Edith Hayes; and one brother, Ottis Freeman. Visiting was held at Brown Funeral Home in Gloster, Miss. Saturday, Oct. 31, from 5-9 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 1, from 1 p.m. until time of Religious Services Sunday. Services were by Rev. Ron Boysel and Rev. Kevin Dixon at 2 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Gloster, Miss. Interment in Mt. Pleasant Memorial Cemetery near Gloster, Mss. Pallbearers were: Casey Rushing, Blake Rushing, Heath Thomas, Ross Thomas, Bruce Collier, Andy Freeman and Randy Freeman. Honorary pallbearers were: Jackie Whittington, Sammie Whittington, D.D. Lefeaux, Judy Ballard
A resident of Prairieville, she died at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 2, at her home. She was 63, born July 16, 1946, in Jarreau. She was co-owner of Jim Jarreau's Restaurant. Visiting will be at Niland's Funeral Home in New Roads Friday, Nov. 6, from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's of False River Catholic Church, New Roads, at 11 a.m. Interment in Chenal Cemetery, Jarreau.
Polzin, James E. “Jim”
He lost his battle with Alzheimer's disease Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, at age 85 at Promise Hospital in Baton Rouge. He was born July 31, 1924, in Corpus Christi, Texas, and was a resident of Gonzales since 1957. A retired major with the Air Force Reserves, he proudly served his country in World War II as a bombardier aboard B-24s in the 90th Bomb Group stationed in the Philippines. After moving from Brownsville, Texas, in 1957, he became the maintenance supervisor at Ormet Corp. at Burnside until his retirement in January 1986.
Robert, Lionel Joseph
A resident of Gonzales and a retired stock clerk, he passed away Monday, Nov. 2, 2009. He was 82 and a native of Burnside. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Burial in Hope Haven Cemetery, Gonzales.
