Early voting starts Oct. 3

Early voting for the Oct. 17 election begins Saturday, Oct. 3 and continues  Monday, Oct.  5 through Oct. 10 from 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m., Registrar of Voters Robert Poche said.

Voters will chose a Justice of the Peace for 2nd District Court, a councilman in the Town of Sorrento, and vote on a parish-wide $100 million school board proposition to upgrade aging schools.

Voters in Donaldsonville’s Road Lighting District No. 4 will vote on whether to implement a $25 residential and a $100 commercial fee to fund lighting improvements,

Early voting is held in the Gonzales Registrar of Voters office at 828 S Irma Blvd., Room 205 and the Donaldsonville Registrar of Voters office, 300 Houmas St., Suite B.

Voters are required to bring a picture ID.
