OBITUARY: Kling Sr., Wilton Joseph

Wilton Joseph Kling Sr.

Wilton Joseph Kling Sr., 84, a native of Dutchtown and a resident of St. Amant, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Sept. 20, 2009. He passed on at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Gonzales, surrounded by those who loved him. He was born on Nov. 15, 1924. He retired from the Illinois Central Railroad. He was a US Army Veteran who served in World War II. He was also a cursillistas and a spiritual father and brother to many. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Argelie Gautreaux Kling; daughters and sons-in-law, Juanita Kling and Henry Allen Davis Sr., Diann Kling and James “Rhino” Ryan; sons and daughters-in-law, Don Joseph Sr. and Diane Kling, Thaddeus “Lynn” Kling, Wilton Joseph Jr. and Linda Kling; grandchildren, Henry Allen Davis Jr., Don “Donnie” Joseph Kling Jr., Leslie Lorin Davis, Kelly Ryan Vines, Clayton Ashley Davis, Melissa Kling Cougle, Jamie Ryan Frederic, Julie Ryan Powell, Bradley Garett Davis, Corey James Kling; and thirteen great grandchildren. There was  a visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, Monday, Sept. 21, from 5- 9:00 p.m. A rosary followed at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume Tuesday, Sept. 22, from 8:30 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Amant, of which he was a member. Rev. Jon Koehler, celebrant. Interment will be in Prairieville Community Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Henry Davis Jr., Leslie Davis, Clayton Davis, Bradley Davis, Corey Kling, and Keith Brignac. Wilton especially loved fishing, making rosaries and crosses, spending time with family and helping those in need. This great man was not only a husband, father, and grandfather, but he was also our best friend. We will miss him dearly but will never forget him. He will forever be in our hearts.
