Bergeron, Joseph Floyd “Bozo”

He was 72 and died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009, at his residence in Prairieville. Arrangements are pending with Greenoaks Funeral Home. He was a native of Frisco. He was retired from Formosa Plastics with 35 years of service and from Penske Truck Rental after 10 years of service. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He worked the LSU stadium gate for 18 years.

Cantu Jr., Joseph

He was a resident of Galvez and was born in Monterrey, Mexico. He was 81 and died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009, at his home. He was a veteran of World War II.

Fontenot, Lena Arceneaux

A native and resident of Whitehall, she died Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009, in Baton Rouge. She was 96. Interment in Whitehall Community Cemetery, Whitehall.

Graham, Helene

She was 87, a native of Doyle and a resident of Gonzales. She died Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009. Interment in the Ficklin Family Cemetery, Galvez. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Gonzales.

Hilliard, Ephriam “Ep”

Retired and a resident of Geismar, he died Monday, Aug. 31, 2009. He was 70 and a native of St. Francisville. Interment in First Pilgrim Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Jones, Octavia Jenkins “Smiley”

A retired teacher for the East Baton Rouge Parish and Ascension Parish school systems, she died Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009. She was 87, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Gramercy. Interment in Winnfield Memorial Park.

Keller, Rosella Gipson “Na-Nan”

A homemaker and a resident of Donaldsonville, she died Monday, Aug. 31, 2009, in Donaldsonville. She was 90 and a native of St. James. Interment in Mount Triumph Baptist Church Cemetery, Donaldsonville.

Lafield, Marilyn Jeanette Sellers

A cosmetologist and resident of Prairieville, she died at 2:37 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009, in Baton Rouge. She was 51 and a native of Amite. Visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, Tuesday from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m. Interment in Hope Haven Cemetery, Gonzales.

Root, Zola Pearl Lewis

A resident of Gonzales, she died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009. She was 79 and a native of Orange, Texas. She was one of Jehovah’s witnesses and a member of the Prairieville congregation.

Templet, Vernell Marie Babin

A resident of St. Amant, she died Monday, Sept. 7, 2009. She was 83. Arrangements are pending with Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, (225) 647-8608.
