Melancon earns degree from CCAF

Air Force Staff Sgt. Darryl G. Melancon graduated and received an associate in applied science degree from the Community College of the Air Force.

The worldwide college, headquartered at Maxwell Air Force Base, Montgomery, Ala., awards job-related associate degrees and other credentialing programs to enlisted airmen to enhance mission readiness and support their performance within their career specialty. 

The education program combines technical and professional military education received in the Air Force with general education provided by civilian institutions.  Enlisted members are automatically enrolled in the CCAF and begin earning college credit during basic military training.

Melancon, a recruiter with eight years of military service, is assigned to the 331st Recruiting Squadron at Maxwell Air Force Base.

He is the son of Daniel G. Melancon of Bluff Road, and nephew of Todd J. Melancon, both of Prairieville.

The sergeant graduated in 1995 from East Ascension High School in 2006 and 2009, he received associate degrees, both from the Community College of the Air Force, Montgomery.
