Parish registrar will hold voter education drives

The Ascension Parish Registrar of Voters offices will take part in National Voter Education Week and will be conducting annual voter education drives during the week of Aug. 24-29. 

Representatives from the Registrar of Voters office will be distributing voting education materials to local colleges, nursing homes, libraries and local government offices.

LeBlanc’s Payless on Hwy. 42 in Prairieville will host a voter education drive on Tuesday, Aug. 25 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., while the TB Chevron in Donaldsonville at 21 W. Tenth St. will carry out the event from 10 a.m.-3 p.m..

Representatives from the Donaldsonville registrar of voter’s office will organize the voter education activities on Wednesday, Aug. 26 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. from the Louisiana Square on Railroad Avenue.

Schedueld for Thursday, Aug. 27 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Harvest Super Market at 12513 Hwy. 73, Geismar, will be participating in the National Voter Education events.

Cabelas at 2200 W. Cabela Parkway in Gonzales is participating in the Ascension Parish Registrar of Voters Education Week Aug. 28 and Aug. 29 during their Great Outdoors weekend.

Staff from the registrar of voter’s office will be on hand at Cabelas from 10 a.m.–6 p.m.

This year, Capital One Bank on Mississippi Street in Donaldsonville is hosting a voter education drive on Friday, Aug. 28 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

The last day to register to vote or make any changes before the Oct. 17 election is Sept. 16. 

Early voting for the Oct. 17 election will begin on Oct. 3-10 from 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Registrar of Voters offices in Gonzales and Donaldsonville.

The registrar of voters offices are located at 828 S. Irma Blvd. Room 205 in Gonzales and 300 Houmas Street Suite B in Donaldsonville.

Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
