Blackwell, Adolph Joseph

He was born Sept. 30, 1917, in Lake, Ascension Parish, and he died Saturday, May 23, 2009, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 91. He was a resident of Baton Rouge since 1936 and a resident of St. Clare Nursing Home for the past several years. He died of cardiac complications secondary to pneumonia. He was educated in the schools of Ascension Parish and later served in the Civilian Conservation Corps. He was a baker, carpenter, life insurance agent and process operator at Exxon Co. USA for 32 years. He was a proud combat veteran of World War II. As he was raised in a bilingual French-English household, he was fluent in Cajun French. A lifelong interest in Cajun dancing began as a teenager in Ascension Parish. Later in life, when his vision failed, this interest was renewed with membership in the Cajun and French Music Association (CFMA). Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park.

Carpenter, Eula Ott “Lea”

She was 71 and died Wednesday, May 27, 2009. She was a native of Watson and a resident of St. Amant. She was a retired server with Browns Lunches and Casino Catering. Visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales Friday, May 29, from 5-9 p.m. Visitation at New River Baptist Church, St. Amant, on Saturday, May 30, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m. Interment in the church cemetery.

Gautreaux Sr., Sidney “Barry”

He was 74 and passed away at 10:46 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2009, after a lengthy illness.

Noessel, Constance

She was born June 5, 1947, in Harahan, and passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at her home in Prairieville. She attended LSU and was retired from Lafayette Woodworks in Baton Rouge. She was a past member of the Executive Women International in Baton Rouge. The family will be having a private memorial service.

Womack, Patrick

He was 30 and a resident of Prairieville. He was born May 24, 1978, in Algiers and died Friday, May 22, 2009, in Ascension Parish. Visitation at Jones Family Funeral Services in McComb, Miss., on Friday, May 29, from noon until services at 2 p.m. Interment in Silver Springs Cemetery in Progress, Miss.
