Blood drive set for Prairieville

Staff reports

Blood donors are needed to ensure blood is available for the summer months. Many regular donors are on vacation and busy with other activities, so stocking up blood centers now is important.

Lifeshare Blood Centers is coordinating a blood drive with the Prairieville Post Office on Monday, June 8 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. This drive is open to the public.

Lifeshare Blood Center is the oldest blood center in Louisiana. Lifeshare supplies blood compenents to 139 healthcare facilities in the south central United States. A prospective blood donor must be 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health.
