Gonzales honors newly-drafted football star

Gonzales Mayor Barney Arceneaux, right, is pictured at the City Council meeting Monday with East Ascension High School graduate Shawn Michael Nelson, who was recently drafted by an NFL?team, the Buffalo Bills.
Arceneaux at the meeting issued a proclamation declaring May 11 Shawn Michael Nelson Day for his achievements at East Ascension, the University of Southern Mississippi, and for his signing with the Bills. Nelson was an All-State football and basketball player in high school, and an All-American tight end in college.

Gonzales Mayor Barney Arceneaux at the City Council meeting Monday recognized East Ascension High School graduate Shawn Michael Nelson, who was recently drafted by an NFL team, the Buffalo Bills.
