Food distribution dates set

The Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank in conjunction with the Parish of Ascension’s Health Unit will  hold quarterly distributions of commodities in Ascension Parish.

Distribution will be held on April 7 at the Lemman Center on 1100 Clay Street in Donaldsonville from 8 a.m. until noon.

The next distribution will be held on April 8 at the Ascension Civic Center in Sorrento from 8 a.m. until noon.

In the future, the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank will distribute commodities on the 2nd Tuesday of each quarter in Donaldsonville and the 2nd Wednesday of each quarter in Sorrento.

The Food for Families will be distributing food on April 14 in Donaldsonville and April 8 in Sorrento from 8 - 11.

This Catholic Charities organization which will be distributing in the future on the 2nd Tuesday of each month in Donaldsonville and the 2nd Wednesday of each month in Sorrento. 

New applications for food for families will be taken at this time. 

The commodities program is a federal program that makes donated foods available to emergency feeding organizations that provide food staples to qualified individuals and families to relieve situations of emergency distress.
