Congressman to open new office

U.S. Rep. Charles Melancon (D-Napoleonville) will hold a grand opening ceremony in Gonzales Friday for his new office in the city.

Melancon has invited the public to attend the event at 3 p.m.

The new office is located at 1201 S. Purpera Ave., Suite 601.

The congress said in a release that he and his staff are available to help the public get reliable information and will work on behalf of the public with federal agencies.

Navigating the maze of federal government can be confusing and frustrating the congressman said.
