Bourgeois, of St. Amant, is the chief building official for Ascension Parish. He is a member of the International Code Council and the Building Official’s Association of Louisiana.
Bourgeois was reappointed to serve as an at-large member, as required by statute. According to the statute, the council is comprised of nineteen at-large gubernatorial appointments, which are subject to senate confirmation.
The Louisiana State Uniform Construction Code Council serves to review and adopt the state uniform construction code, train and educate code officials and establish the requirements and process for certification of code enforcement officers, code enforcement inspectors and building officials.
Additionally, the council accepts requests for amendments to the code, except those regarding the Louisiana State Plumbing Code, and will determine if any amendments are justified.
