Vitter plans town hall meeting in Gonzales

Staff reports
Sen. David Vitter

U.S. Sen. David Vitter will hold a town hall meeting at the Courthouse Annex in Gonzales today from 2:30-3:30 p.m.

The meeting will be on the second floor of the council chambers at 828 S. Irma Blvd.

Vitter said he will discuss improving the economy, growing jobs in Louisiana, access to healthcare, fighting crime and other issues.

Vitter also announced mobile office hours in Ascension Parish on Tuesday, March 10 and Wednesday, March 11 to provide assistance to residents in the wake of the 2008 storms.

“Hurricanes Gustav and Ike left a large wake in their paths that still have many reeling for help and assistance,” Vitter said. “This mobile office will provide residents of Ascension Parish an opportunity to seek casework help and assistance without having to travel to one of my other permanent seven state offices.”

Vitter’s mobile office will be in Ascension Parish to provide easier access and less travel time for residents in need of casework and other government assistance.

The office will be at:

• Kmart at 115 South Airline Highway, Gonzales, March 10, from 2-3:30 p.m.

• U.S. Post Office 8299 John LeBlanc Blvd. Sorrento, March 11, from 9-10:30 a.m.
