Recycling Roadshow scheduled for Saturday in Prairieville

The Recycling Roadshow is scheduled for the first Saturday of each month. The next event is set for Saturday, March 7.

The Recycling Roadshow truck will be at the Prairieville Wal-Mart from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

The Roadshow is a Keep Ascension Beautiful initiative in partnership with the Parish of Ascension, The Recycling Foundation, Inc., Wal-Mart, Keep Louisiana Beautiful and Keep America Beautiful.

Newspapers and magazines, plastics and cardboard and much more will be accepted. Check the Ascension Parish Web site for a list of acceptable and unacceptable items.

Keep Ascension Beautiful’s Terance Irvin reminds all residents who cannot make the Roadshows that they can always bring their recycling to the Recycling Center at the Ascension Parish Department of Public Works located at 42077 Churchpoint Road in Gonzales.

Recycling services are available Monday-Thursday 8 a.m.-4 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

The Recycling Roadshow also needs volunteers to help staff the monthly dates. Student or community volunteer groups looking for service hours or individuals who have a desire to help Keep Ascension Beautiful should contact Irvin at 225-621-5772 or tirvin@apgov.us.
