Keep Ascension Beautiful, parish government offer Recycling Roadshow

Back by popular demand, the Recycling Roadshow is now scheduled for the first Saturday of each month in 2008 and 2009, according to a release from Ascension Parish Government.

The Recycling Roadshow truck will be at the Prairieville Wal-Mart on Airline Highway from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. on the first Saturday of each month.

The Roadshow is a Keep Ascension Beautiful initiative in partnership with the Parish of Ascension, The Recycling Foundation, Inc., Wal Mart, Keep Louisiana Beautiful and Keep America Beautiful. Newspapers and magazines, plastics and cardboard and much more will be accepted. A full list of items accepted is available at www.ascensionparish.net.

Residents who cannot attend the roadshows can also bring their items to the Recycling Center at the Ascension Parish

Department of Public Works, located at 42077 Churchpoint Road, Gonzales. Recycling services are available Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

The Recycling Roadshow is also seeking volunteers to help staff the roadshow dates. Student or community volunteer groups desiring  service hours or individuals who have a desire to help Keep Ascension Beautiful can contact Terance Irvin at 621-5772 or tirvin@apgov.us.
