Our Lady of the Lake College honors St. Elizabeth CEO LeJeune

Dee LeJeune, president and CEO of St. Elizabeth Hospital in Gonzales, was honored with the 2008 Distinguished Alumni Award by Our Lady of the Lake College.

This inaugural award was presented by OLOL College President Sandra Harper during a banquet held at De La Ronde Hall in Baton Rouge Nov. 15.

Harper cited LeJeune’s ability to “develop a stimulating, empowering work environment,” as a factor in the award selection.

“Under her leadership, St. Elizabeth Hospital consistently receives top ratings in employee and physician satisfaction,” Harper said. “These ratings have enabled the hospital to be recognized as the ‘Best in Class’ on a national level, and receive the Louisiana Performance Excellence Award Level III.”

LeJeune has remained very active with Our Lady of the Lake College since graduating from the School of Nursing, St. Elizabeth Hospital said in a release. Most recently LeJeune sat on the Leadership Team of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, assisting the college in its compliance report preparations.

Upon accepting the award, LeJeune said, “I am humbled by this honor and privileged to represent Our Lady of the Lake College as a proud alumnus. It is a gift to wake up each day with the ability to impact the lives people, as we respond to the needs of this wonderful community. It is truly an honor.”
