Coleman, Shirley Linton

A homemaker and a lifelong resident of Donaldsonville, she died Monday, Oct. 27, 2008, at age 62. Interment in Buena Vista Baptist Church cemetery.

Katz, Roy Bernard

He passed away at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, after a long, heroic battle with cancer. He was 63, a resident and native of Donaldsonville. Visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, Donaldsonville, on Tuesday, Nov. 4, from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Religious service at Ascension Catholic Church, Donaldsonville, at 10 a.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Phil Spano. Entombment in Ascension Mausoleum. He was a devoted employee of the Ascension Parish Government in the capacity of human resources consultant. He was an honored member of the Donaldsonville Elks Lodge 1153 where he served as Past Exalted Ruler and King Jolly Goodfellow the 50th. He also served as president of the Donaldsonville Chamber of Commerce and Riverdale Golf Club. He was also an active member in several other civic and fraternal organizations.

Landry, Linda Ann

A retired member of DAARC and a resident of Donaldsonville, she died at 3:53 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008, in Gonzales. She was 57 and a native of Paincourtville. Interment in St. Jules Catholic Church Cemetery, Belle Rose.

Rogers Jr., Noble Joseph “Joe"

A resident of Gonzales and a native of New Orleans, he died early Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008. He was 77. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during which time he participated in action against enemy forces in South Korea from December 1951 to December 1952 and later retired from the Louisiana Department of Transportation, where he was a public information officer. Burial in Cornerview Cemetery. He also attended Southeastern Louisiana University, where he majored in English and journalism.

Templet, Mabel Daigle

A resident of Gonzales and a native of White Castle, she passed away on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008. She was 94. Entombment in Hope Haven Mausoleum, Gonzales. She was a parishioner of St. Theresa Church and a member of the St. Theresa Catholic Daughters for more than 50 years.
